Job Description

The successful candidate will already be working in or have experience of the financialservices industry.

The RoleYou will be providing technical expertise to the financial adviser through undertaking detailed research and analysis of a wide variety of financial planning solutions. Using your excellent communication skills and attention to detail, you will be producingcompliant financial planning reports for our financial adviser to present, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the clients needs.As a paraplanner, you will be the go-to individual for advice on technical queries and you will cover the whole client journey, including obtaining relevant information from 3rd parties, conducting research to source suitable solutions, completing detailedand informative reports, updating clients and ensuring IT systems are accurate and up to date.Duties will include:
  • Initial assessment of case on receipt to ensure all required information is present, ensuring anything further is requested where needed.
  • Ensure comprehensive record keeping regarding of letters of authority including: liaising with clients, requesting information from 3rd parties, tracking and chasing information and updating IT systems.
  • Maintaining computer systems to reflect up to date client information.
  • Prepare client files for advisers and folders for client meetings.
  • Build cash flow models.
  • Writing technical suitability reports.
  • Liaising with internal St. Jamess Place staff, clients and 3rd party providers.
  • Identify areas for planning.
Knowledge/experience and skills required:
  • Understanding of the financial planning process desirable but not essential as full training will be given
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong letter writing skills including grammar and spelling.
  • Proficient IT skills and ability to learn new systems. Basic word processing, spread sheet and database knowledge
  • Ethical, honest and compliant attitude to tasks
  • Highly organised, analytical, with a methodical approach to work and able to prioritise workloads to achieve deadlines
  • A positive attitude and able to work efficiently with minimum supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent social skills both with clients, staff and 3rd parties.
  • Ambitious to support the development and success of the practice.
