Job Description

Our client is looking for a Vehicle Service Engineer to provide an efficient and effective quality service to their customers on site.Our client’s company is a very successful, family run business that has been delivering high-quality service for decades. You would be part of a friendly, positive, and experienced team of Service Engineers who are able to adapt to the various tasks throughoutthe day, whilst feeling valued and supported.Location: Head Office Hereford, Customer sites throughout the West Midlands.Key Duties: (not limited to)

  • Ensure all documentations and records relating to service/repairs are completed and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Carry out servicing, thorough examinations, breakdowns, and preventive maintenance in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure PDA is used in Real Time’ to accurately record data for customer reporting.
  • Work with Customer Support Team to meet scheduled/committed activity and ensure standards and commitments are maintained and upheld.
  • Ensure efficient completion of tasks assigned by Engineer Coordinator & Operations manager in the allocated time provided.
  • Provide on-site technical support to customers as required.
  • Be able to fault find and troubleshoot problems.
  • Maintain company assigned vehicle, tools, and test equipment in satisfactory conditions.
  • Adhere to company guidelines regarding safety procedures.
  • Attend regular training courses as required and determined by Operations Manager.
  • Participate in task capability reviews quarterly.
Skills Required:
  • Formal qualification (NVQ, C&G)
  • Previous experience in the forklift industry.
  • Previous experience in mechanical engineering, agricultural and plant machinery or motor vehicles (service and maintenance).
  • Current clean driving licence.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management.
  • Ability to use initiative to solve problems.
