We have a six month vacancy for a minimum 3 days a week (more hours potentially negotiable) for a Band 8a Clinical or Counselling psychologist who is HCPC registered to work in Worcestershire’s Older Adult Mental Health Services, based in Newhaven, Princess of Wales Community Hospital, Bromsgrove.This is an exciting opportunity to support new developments in the service. We are hopeful that the post will be made permanent. The post holder will have experience of working with older people, across the range of mental health issues associated with ageing, including dementia. In addition to offering evidence based psychological therapies they would be supporting the teams in their ability to offer brief interventions, offering complex case discussions and using their skills in evaluation. Experience of supporting older adults in their transition from hospital and preventing admissions would be helpful.There are four locality teams working across the county of Worcestershire, where psychology is a valued and integrated part of each team. There are also psychologists working in the inpatient service, Early Intervention Dementia Service and Neuropsychology.
