Water is essential to life, so our business is always open.What youll be doingIn this role you will provide professional Environmental and Waste Management advice to fieldsupervisors, managers and dig teams on the expectations and requirements for working inthe Repair & Maintenance/ Customer Side Leakage functions, supporting compliance withany relevant legislation, best practice and the Thames Water Environmental managementsystem, processes, and procedures developed for Water Networks.In this role you will: Support the Water Network (WN) teams to ensure compliance with current environmental legislation, along with Thames Waters own WN Environmental Management System Assist in the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans, and site-specific control measures at each depot Undertake audits and inspections for compliance with environmental and waste management processes in WN, including internal teams, suppliers and waste contractors Provide advice for obtaining legal consents, licenses and exemptions Ensure all incidents are recorded in line with the WN environmental procedures and provide any identified reports within the agreed timescales Proactively engage and promote the reporting of Safety Observations and improvements that are relating to the environment or waste management to raise standards on site.What you should bring to the role Qualified to degree level, or equivalent, in an appropriate environmental discipline In-depth knowledge of current environmental legislation and waste management, ideally within the Water infrastructure industry, construction, or related sector Professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM) Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to produce high quality reports with a good attention to detail Experience in delivering training and toolbox talks/ briefings.Whats in it for youOur competitive salary package includes an excellent contributory pension, 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with length of service and a wider benefits scheme including our benefits hub, which is packed full of offers and information to save you moneyand support your wellbeing.Thames Water is a dynamic, rewarding and diverse place to work, with opportunities around every corner.
