Job Description

Senior Programme ManagerWe are seeking an exceptional leader to take on a brand new role overseeing the delivery and expansion of the charity’s main two programme areas.You will be working for an organisation whose mission is to remove the obstacles to young refugees and asylum-seekers’ education and wellbeing through mentoring, advocacy, and financial support.Position: Head of Programmes (Internal Title)Location: Brixton, HybridHours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week, including early evening meetings and occasional weekendsContract: PermanentSalary: £38,000 - £43,000 per annum (depending on experience)Closing date: 1st October 2023Interview dates: 12th and 13th OctoberAbout the role: As Senior Programme Manager you will oversee operations, staff, delivery, budgets and reporting. You will ensure that key targets are met, delivery is of an exceptional standard, and that young people accessing services receive effective and meaningful support.Over the next 12 months the organisation are set to scale their programmes further and provide over 200 young people with tailored mentoring, advocacy, and financial support. As they begin to develop their strategy, the organisation are seeking an innovativeand ambitious Senior Programme Manager who can lead the programme team through this critical next phase of growthKey responsibilities will include:

  • Develop annual objectives and delivery plans for all programmes
  • Oversee the delivery of all programmes, ensuring that key delivery targets are met
  • Manage the budget and running costs for the programmes
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Lead on internal innovation projects and implement improvements to programmes
  • Manage 3 direct reports.
  • Oversee the retention of programme staff and volunteers and the recruitment of new staff
  • Oversee monitoring and evaluation framework
  • Embed safeguarding best practice and ensure adherence to policies and procedures
About you:As Senior Programme Manager you will be an exceptional leader and somebody that can be counted on to ensure that programmes are delivered effectively.You will also have:
  • Demonstrable experience in project, programme, and service management with budget responsibility
  • Experience of organisational strategic planning and programme design
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and managing teams of frontline / programme delivery staff
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults at risk
  • A demonstrable interest and commitment to working with marginalised populations, particularly refugees and asylum-seekers
  • Knowledge and experience of designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to capture programme outcomes
  • Knowledge of participation, user involvement and engagement strategies and experience implementing related practices and processes.
