Voice and Data Networks EngineerOur public sector client are looking for a Voice and Data Network Engineer to join them on a contract basis.The Voice and Data Networks team works with both internal and external customers, investigating and providing resolutions to fault reports and work requests initiated from the IT Service Desk, the Project Management Office, Problem Management, and otherteams within IT Services.At present, the demand on the team for temporary projects has risen and therefore additional capacity is required to continue successful performance of business-as-usual (BAU) activities and meet the demand of the projects. This additional capacity intendsto release existing permanent resource to engage with projects. However, there is likely to be cross-over from projects and BAU and therefore this opportunity would likely provide opportunity to work across all aspects of the teams needs.One example of an existing project is the implementation of a new network infrastructure to replace out-dated equipment and processes to improve resilience and security. This includes the IT hardware that enables staff to connect securely to services anddata across 120 Schools and up to Corporate 136 sites. The project has awarded a contract to a third-party supplier for the provision of new (Fortinet) equipment. This project draws heavily upon the teams capacity and therefore support to back-fill teamsmembers is required with potential to work within this project also.It is expected that the successful candidate will perform a 5-day working week with a minimum of two (2) days being in office (Bristol)The Voice & Data Networks Engineer will work closely with the Voice & Data Networks team and with other digital services including the Lead Systems Operations Engineer and their team.
