Job Description

Helastel, a Bristol based software house specialising in IT Consultancy and Data Management services, is now looking for a UI/UX Designer to join our growing team.We are looking for a dynamic UI/UX Designer to join our amazing team and be responsible for the UX and UI across our range of digital assets - desktop, web and mobile. You will ensure that all elements of the user experience are optimised for usability, accessibility, usefulness and exceptional visual design. You’ll work with our Marketing Team to ensure brand consistency and identify and maximise our applications’ impact through the production of engaging designs and visual content.Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with customers, Business Analysts, Product Managers and Engineers
  • Be an advocate for best practice UX across the business
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables) and prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
  • Experience/qualifications:
  • Working with and to GDS standards
  • Gathering and evaluating user requirements, design graphic elements and building navigation components collaboratively
  • Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets and for social formats
  • Implementing concept designs utilising
  • Understanding of design principles and knowledge of Accessibility standards
  • Able to present a portfolio of previous design projects
  • Knowledge of wireframe tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc and InVision)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience in conducting usability testing
  • Desirable:
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science or relevant field
  • Possess hands-on graphic design experience including, but not limited to, social media assets, infographics, GIFs, and print materials
  • Experience in creating infographics to visualise data
  • HTML /Dreamweaver /Adobe Premier /Adobe After Effects
  • Experience in designing for B2B marketing/ tech industry
  • Experience and understanding of the tech/ software/ SaaS/ PaaS industry
