Our client is a global logistics freight forwarder offering a range of transport and logistics services to a wide range of clients worldwide.Now due to expansion we are looking to strengthen the Freight team at their facility in Bristol by appointing a Warehouse and Transport Supervisor to join the team in BristolYour role will be to Supervise the running of the Transport and Warehouse Department, through a committed approach to customer service, proactive communications and relationship building with all customers, suppliers, colleagues and overseas agents,whilst maintaining a constant focus on delivering efficiency and quality to your role and the services we deliver to our clients. You will manage the day to day running of department, overseeing operational processes whilst closely monitoring service level and compliance, providing assistance with operational duties when absolutely necessaryHandling daily and weekly route planning and sub- contracting where required, whilst maximising profits and minimising costs. Quoting for collections and deliveries in the most cost-effective manner You will supervise the drivers, ensuring they are complying with drivers hours and the working time directive. Submit digi card information to the FTA within 28 days, download the vehicle VU unit and submit to FTA in accordance with VOSA/EU guidelines(once every 3 months)As well as managing the maintenance of vehicles, ensuring that vehicles are maintained in line with EU/VOSA guidelines (MOT, Tax, Servicing, 6 weekly Inspections) keeping accurate maintenance records, ensuring vehicle defects reports are completed dailyand processed accordinglyExperience Required..In order to apply for this role, you must have experience in a supervisory role specific to UK Road transportation and warehousing, with a preferred minimum of 5 years varied experience in an operational environment.You will ideally also have level CO aviation security training/Forklift Training/Driving Licence (7.5T) / Valid CPC.Benefits Salary circa £30,000Pension 22 days holiday to start Annual pay reviews and opportunities for spot payments for outstanding achievements.
