Engineer (Through Life Boat Plan - Submarines)SF34117Business Unit: Submarine Support EngineeringLocation: Bristol (Merlin House)Salary: £36,525 - £40,995About the RoleThe role will place you in the Through Life Boat Planning team, situated within Submarine Support Engineering (SSE), a Centre of Excellence for engineering capability and professional development.As the primary engineering function in Naval Marine, SSE provides technical outputs and solutions to enable submarine and warship availability and fit for purpose infrastructure; supporting our programmes while understanding and proactively managing platform safety.You will seek to provide a holistic view and approach to management of maintenance requirements through life. You will be trusted to provide reactive support to the customer for emergent engineering and programme challenges. Through developing your understanding of submarine material state and through life maintenance, you will also capture, collate and communicate engineering risks, issues and opportunities. You will also have the freedom and ability to drive improvements in how we manage one of the most complex assets in operation today.What do I need to do the role*Youll need to be personable, professional, and driven with the ability to engage people at all levels. *Understanding of Submarine Systems and associated maintenance requirements.*Excellent communication skills as you will be liaising with the MOD and waterfront teams to discuss maintenance requirements.*Have a proactive approach to work as you will be working with the MOD to make recommendations and improvements.*Be a member of an accredited body such as IMechE or IET and working towards Chartered or Incorporated status.*Be qualifications of HNC level or above in an Engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems.What else do I need to know*The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.*We are happy to talk about flexible working.
