Job Description

Systems Design EngineerWeapon Systems Location: BristolJob Type: 6 Month ContractI have an opportunity for a Systems Design Engineer (Weapon Systems) to work on my clients site in Bristol who are an internationally renowned defence organisation who provide engineering support and capability to the armed forces.The contract will initially last 6 months and you will be responsible for the following:

  • System Design Requirement analysis, management, documentation and flow down.
  • System Performance analysis, model generation and data analysis.
  • Carrying out technical design trades across System and Sub-system boundaries.
  • System Design uncertainty & query resolution and coherency management across product lines. System Design interface definition, co-ordination and documentation.
  • Negotiating points of embodiment with Design Authorities.
    • To be considered for this position you should have the following experience:
  • BSc/MSc/MEng in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of several of the following System Design related tools: MATLAB, DOORS, Rhapsody and Artisan. Knowledge of SysML/UML would be an advantage
  • Worked in at least one of the following related areas: Missile/Weapon System, Combat Systems, Command & Control Systems, and Experience of naval weapon systems would be an advantage.
  • Experience in Systems Design, Complex System Design, Definition and Development.
  • Have strong stakeholder management/influencing skills.
  • Have the ability to visualize and analyse complex systems.
    • Please Note: Due to the nature of the position you will be required to undergo Security Clearance.
