Job Description

Multiple Systems Acceptance Engineers - Defence and Military SystemsPermanent - Attractive - Bristol or West MidlandsSystems Acceptance Engineersare required to join an International Defence Systems company that designs, manufactures, and supports world leading military Systems. The successfulSystems Acceptance Engineerswill be integratedinto the team and be involved with large Military Engineering Programmes . As part of the team, you will be given the opportunity of professional development and career progression. TheSystems Acceptance Engineerswill be working as partof Engineering Research and Development to be involved in developing, integrating and testing Military Platforms. TheSystems Acceptance Engineerswill be a key part of the engineering team, to enable the successful delivery of the programme.The Systems Acceptance Engineers will be working as part of integrated engineering teams to develop systematic solutions as required.Systems Acceptance Engineers will be responsible for the following:

  • Liaison between various Engineering teams.
  • Completing Acceptance Case and updating the acceptance database technical content.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are fit for purpose and use best practice.
  • Review Trials Plans and Reports to answer requirements.
  • Producing Acceptance reports for equipment configurations.
  • Creation and delivery of acceptance databases and datasets at System and Subsystem level.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, briefings and design reviews.
  • The generation and review of technical reports and reporting on progress.
  • Participating in technical debate and group problem solving.
  • Working with Customer, User, Engineering and Procurement teams
  • Assist in resolving design queries, problems and conflicts.
  • Reviewing design changes and assessing any impact on acceptance evidence.
  • Supporting the Development of the System Architecture.
  • Drive a coherent, balanced and compliant system design from an acceptance viewpoint.
  • Development of System & Sub-system design documentation from an acceptance viewpoint.
  • Provide input to cost estimating, project plans, and progress reports.
The Systems Acceptance Engineers should have the following Qualifications Skills or Experience:
  • High level of technical expertise to meet the required level of safety and performance.
  • Significant drive and energy, strong systems engineering skills.
  • Ability to deliver against time, target cost and quality requirements.
  • Must be a team player who is prepared to work with a multi-site engineering team.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline with postgraduate experience.
  • Ideally Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and be able to work with minimum of supervision within team environment.
  • Experience of Integrated Test, Evaluation & Acceptance
  • Knowledge of Qualification & Certification of weapons, explosives/survivability systems.
  • Understanding of SysML modelling techniques and requirements management.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, DOORS and Product Life-cycle Management tools.
  • Awareness of Security implications for technical material and Design for Safety
  • Understanding of Military Systems and their development.
  • Knowledge and application of appropriate Defence Standards for military vehicles.
  • Experience with Requirements management, Specification and design of complex electro-mechanical systems and sub-systems.
  • Knowledge of Weapon Control Systems design and validation
