Job Description

Five Education is recruiting for a Supply Teacher to work in a special school in Shirehampton,The 10 pupils in this class are KS2/KS3 and have severe learning difficulties and autism. The booking is full time, Monday to Friday and is to start as soon as possible.This particular client has a variety of sites and they are currently looking for a teacher to work with students who have SLD - Severe Learning Difficulties - at their primary site. Candidates with either QTS or QTLS will be considered. This role is full time, and we are only able to put forward candidates who can commit to 5 days per week. You will be working with a small classTeam Teach is not essential but it is used regularly within the school and candidates with this qualification and an understanding of their methods are encouraged to apply. If you have MAPA, PRICE or similar training please make this clear on your CV.Candidates employment history on their CV must include dates of employment.Essential Criteria

  • Must be able to start by 8:30 am every morning
  • Significant experience of working with pupils with SLD and Autism who have a range of emerging literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to plan a focus on life skills and preparing for adulthood
  • Creative approaches to work experience opportunities
  • Ability to meet Accreditation evidence expectations (Equals Moving On’, ASDAN Personal progress’)
  • Able to organise and be responsible for frequent offsite visits including risk assessments
  • Will be able to provide empathy and guidance
  • Ability to put learning in a functional context
  • Excellent written skills
  • Will be able to build rapport with pupils, parents and carers from a variety of backgrounds
  • Able to work with additional support staff in the class and around the school
  • Able to work until 16:30 on a Tuesday
