Job Description

Job Title: Subsidence SpecialistLocation: South WestAre you an experienced Surveyor or Loss Adjuster with a passion for solving technical challenges in buildings and structures Do you thrive in a role where you can support, influence, and embed best practices within your team If so, we have an excitingopportunity for you to join our team as a Subsidence Specialist.Key Responsibilities:As a Subsidence Specialist, you will play a crucial role in proactively managing and settling Subsidence claims, handling a caseload that includes both domestic and commercial properties with various values. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and influencing teams to ensure best practices are embedded.
  • Sharing technical knowhow and tactical knowledge with team leaders to enhance their skills, knowledge, and confidence in managing Subsidence claims.
  • Attending on-site visits to properties where claimants have reported signs of Subsidence, ability to assist with quantum general perils and major loss claims.
  • Surveying properties, investigating damage, and diagnosing the cause of movement.
  • Providing detailed reports to Subsidence teams within specific timeframes to facilitate swift claim settlements.
  • Collaborating with internal claims handlers and utilizing site packs containing claim details and policy information.
Qualifications and Skills:We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Experienced in investigating and repairing damaged buildings, with a focus on the diagnosis and mitigation of subsidence movement.
  • Ideally chartered or approaching chartered status with a relevant institution: ICE, IStructE, RICS, CIOB, CILA, BDMA Ins Tech
  • Experience in insurance claims handling is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a decisive approach in handling Subsidence claims.
  • Sound understanding of domestic construction.
  • Knowledgeable with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Full UK Driving License.
