Job Description

Lyons Bowe is a local, high-street Solicitors, but with a difference! Established in 2014, we have developed state of the art technology which allows us to offer exceptional legal services across Residential Conveyancing, New Build, Family & Private Clientwhilst also providing that all-important high-street service to our local communities.Following the growth of our business we are now looking to recruit a Junior or Newly Qualified Fee Earner to join our New Build team and support the Fee Earners and Head of Department to grow our New Build business. This can be based either remotely or inour Bristol or Shepton Mallet offices, and working in a flexible way to suit the needs of both them and the business.Lyons Bowe are passionate about providing our clients with a first-class experience throughout their conveyancing journey. We utilise industry leading technology that allows our clients to enjoy an enhanced experience without missing out on personalised clientservice.We aim to give our clients and our team members the flexibility to choose an experience that best fits their needs. To this end, the successful candidate will be able to enjoy working on a remote/hybrid basis.Our New Build department works as a team, providing ongoing and consistent support to each other. This gives everyone who works within the team the flexibility to work hours that suit them and the business if needed and a good work life balance is activelyencouraged!Job PurposeWe are looking for an ambitious junior or NQ Fee Earner who is ready join a growing team and has an interest in specialising in New Build property sales and purchase.The successful applicant will have a strong conveyancing background and ideally have some exposure to New Build matters.Responsibilities and Duties

  • Land acquisition: options, promotion and development agreements, contracts, due diligence, finance matters
  • Work on joint venture and collaboration agreements
  • Mange the site set up for plot sales
  • Manage basic commercial property requirements, e.g., Landlord and Tenant, leasehold assignments, sales, and purchases:
  • Act as a team leader for future junior members of the team
  • Teach, guide, and improve junior members of the team to develop their skills and experience, thus shaping the future of Lyons Bowe
  • Business develop with the Head of New Build as well as working autonomously so grow the development side of the New Build team
Requirements
  • Completed, or currently undertaking, Licensed Conveyancing Level 6 or equivalent
  • At least 2 years experience working within the New Build Conveyancing system; plot sales and purchasing
  • Be confident in financing and re-financing
  • Good understanding of workflows and precedent systems to improve and design workflows
  • To be able to work to a high standard and possess a fine attention to detail and to be organised and efficient whilst working under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • High standards of client care with a professional and pleasant manner
Strong business development skills with contacts in the property sector in their local area
  • Strong understanding of legal technology and how that can be used and integrated into a conveyancing department
  • Strong interest in helping support and develop junior members of staff
  • Being involved in the development of the firms culture
  • Excellent IT skills to work in an innovative and forward-thinking law firm
