Were looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to help create unforgettable experiences for people studying across the UK. Youll be joining the team at a time of digital transformation and with serious investment into user centred design and product thinking.What youll be doingAs a Senior UX/UI designer youll be joining a centralised UX team, reporting into an experienced UX Design Manager and working alongside specialised researchers and designers, as well as wider team of technical, product and project experts. The UX team worksacross 10 distinct value streams featuring several distinct products and experiences.This role is focussed on staff tools, creating products that help the team deliver a seamless experience internally and externally. Its an important role for the team with lots of scope.Due to the size of the team and design maturity this role is best suited to that of a generalist; itll involve supporting research, running workshops, generating user stories, journeys, and flow diagrams, defining information architecture, wireframing, prototypingand testing designs with users, creating high fidelity UI designs and helping develop the in-house design system.Youll be working with a head of department that is all about quality and true user insight meaning youll be supported in doing your best work and given the right tools to do it properly. UX maturity is still developing so theres plenty of opportunity tohelp shape things, but you can rest assured of good UX buy in at a senior level. Its an exciting time to join too, the UX team will be scaling further this year at every level with juniors, midweights and senior hires. There is a real ambition across thebusiness to innovate and develop new and exciting ways to interact with and support their users.What experience youll need
  • Previous experience in a design role that involves UX and UI outputs.
  • Experienced with modern design tools and the latest design thinking methodologies.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your approach to problem solving.
  • Some exposure to agile.
  • Good communication skills, collaborative by nature and able to communicate design decisions effectively.
