    • A well-reputed global consultancy in Bristol is looking for a Senior-Lead level Software Tester to join them as they further grow their in-house app development function. This role is part of a wider expansion plan and heavy investment into technology services; it would be a great opportunity for anyone who wants to play a key role in how their internal & external applications are developed moving forward. You’d be sat in a multi-functional team made up of Developers, Data Analysts, PMs, BAs, System Engineers, supported by wider expertise across IT, Data, Cloud and Security. They’re fully remote for now but would like the team to be in 2-3 days a week once restrictions lift.What skills you’ll need
  • Strategic mindset, ability to translate tech/business requirements into structured test plans.
  • Comfortable working as a sole Tester with autonomy over strategic direction and tech.
  • Experience in creating automated test pipelines, using automated test platforms like Selenium.
  • Manual testing capability across web and desktop applications.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API tools like Postman, SoapUI or similar.
  • Agile working, using Jira or Azure DevOps for backlogs/documentation.
  • Understanding of DevOps and working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Any understanding of MS/JavaScript tech would be handy, but not essential.
  • SQL scripting experience would be beneficial, mainly for test validation.
  • Any knowledge of load/performance testing would be super useful.
    • What you’ll be doingJoining a talented, cross-functional Agile team, you’ll be their first Tester hire, supporting the Developers to enhance their in-house software apps and databases with a lot of the project base being Greenfield. They’re expecting this person to take control over strategic direction of their testing approach, translating business/tech requirements to implement both manual & automated test solutions, with a lot of autonomy and control over the future direction of the development team. You’ll educate others on best practice, support with identifying and fixing bugs within the application suite, as well as working closely with the leadership team to form formal processes across the team to help shape a more structured approach moving forward.
