Job Description

This job opportunity for a Chartered Senior Structural Engineer is one you dont want to miss!The successful candidate will be permanently joining a respected, Design, Engineering and Project Management Consultancy, working hybrid, based 3 times a week in their Bristol office. This role involves contributing to major Defence and Nuclear projectsin the South West.Our client is expanding its dynamic team due to the increasing demands for services in various Engineering sectors, including Education, Rail, Aviation, Energy, Water, Defence, Transportation, and ResidentialRequirements:

  • Ability to achieve Sc clearance
  • Chartered Engineer (Mistrusted or MICE)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to support client relationships
  • Ability to manage and work to budget and program, control costs, and manage change control processes
  • Technically excellent Engineer with established skills and delivery capability
  • Experience in UK MoD Defence Projects, Submarine Facilities Design, Nuclear Projects, Seismic Design and Detailing, Maritime Design and Heavy Civils Design.
  • Experience in Building Design with a good understanding of current design standards and working practices.
  • Experience in acting as a Discipline Lead and/or Project Management
  • Proven experience in developing projects from concept to construction stage
  • The ability to develop scopes of work and delivery programs
  • Experience working with and managing small focused project teams
  • The ability to make decisions, act on your initiative, and operate in a proactive way,
  • A curious-minded individual who enjoys the stimulation of exchanging ideas with others
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and lead multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, ensuring they stay within budget and adhere to the schedule.
  • Ensure the provision of efficient, high-quality structural engineering design
  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design teams, and third parties
  • Offer support and guidance to more junior members of the team
  • Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities
  • Effectively manage own time, particularly if allocated to more than one project
  • Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training, contributing to the overall development and success of the team
