Job Description

Senior Scientist

This is opportunity for a senior scientist to be part of rapidly growing product development, focused on microbiome modulation and bacterial control using highly innovative genome editing techniques.You will enjoy take a lead role in developing product candidates from proof-of-concept studies generated by the companion research team, through pilot scale fermentation to product formulation. It is expected the that you will be fully conversant with molecularbiological tools to contribute to the design of candidates, making modifications that enhance stability and product yield whilst retaining full functionality.What youll be doing: Contribute to design of candidates by liaison with the Research team with reference to stability and yield. Take existing commercial product candidates from the lab bench scale through process development using in-house small pilot scale production systems. Design and test post-production processing and formulation options that improve product stability. Additionally, provide high-quality data appropriately presented to meet application development, regulatory dossier requirements and customer trials. Work through CMOs, CROs as needed to further scale-up product candidates. Improve the product development time horizons by streamlining laboratory processes which will enable application. Work closely with Research, Analytical and QC teams to help achieve the companies goals.What experience youll need to apply Experience in microbial molecular biology with reference to strain development. Expertise in fermentation at least to laboratory small scale. Appropriate academic credentials to at least PhD level. Evidence of excellent problem-solving capabilities. Proven application of analytical and reporting skills. Leadership qualities to manage a small team, manage complex workstreams and excellent interpersonal skills. Possess a good understanding of CRISPR, genetic transformation and the regulatory environment for biotech products.
