Make a real impact, immediatelyWere looking for someone dynamic, ambitious and eager to make an impact to become our next Senior BuyerThe difference our new Senior Buyer will makeDefence Systems Technology (DST) is transforming and we need you to support our key leaders in forging new paths, and leading their teams through exciting, but sometimes challenging change. Youll be key in helping implement our ambitious people agenda throughout DST, part of the Marine Sector of Babcock International.We are looking for talented people with an interest in procurement and supply chain who will help generate significant value for the business by reducing the total cost of bought in goods and services and manage supplier relationships to increase the overall value derived from the supply chain. As the link between our suppliers and the wider business, your duties will include:• Managing and mentoring a team of Buyers encouraging lean thinking and a continuous improvement culture. The delivery of key category strategies.• Supply Chain representative for Production, Quality and Projects. Preparing, issuing and reviewing supplier RFQs, recommending preferred options to the relevant stakeholders.• Converting purchase requisitions to purchase orders and issuing to suppliers, negotiating appropriate T&Cs for the protection of the organisation.• Understanding and implementing contract requirements and relevant special conditions. Managing and Developing supplier relationships.• Pro-active supplier order book management activities.Who were looking forYou will be someone who brings big ideas and solves complex problems with simple and elegant solutions.
