Job Description

Senior Android Developer Largely remote (2 days a week in office) - BristolUp to £80,000 annual salary + a competitive benefits packageWe are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer in the UK - with the ability to gain SC clearance. Do you possess strong coding experience in Java and Kotlin What about soft skills such as line management, team leadership and the ability to effectivelydrive software teams to success If you are interested in an opportunity to solve interesting real-world problems for a variety of customers and stakeholders, then this is the role for you. Youll be working within a diverse team of multi-disciplinary engineers,building cutting edge applications/software to support military, first responders and other frontline personnel. The work you do will be utilised by 100,000s of users across the world!Here is why you may be interested:

  • You will play a key role in mentoring junior developers to help them reach their full potential - offering guidance and feedback wherever possible
  • You will work with a wide range of technologies, with a company whose ethos is to use the right tools for the job/solve the problem, rather than always use the same tech stack
  • You will be working on: Android app development, Hardware integration, Online service deployment, Rapid prototyping, Feasibility studies and Technical assurance
  • Some technologies used in the business: Kotlin, Spring, Java, Python, C++, Git and Cloud frameworks (AWS, Azure, GCP)
What you ideally have:
  • Most importantly, due to the nature of the work, you must be eligible to work in the UK and have or be able to qualify for National Security Vetting (SC Clearance).
  • Proven Android development experience, proficiency in Kotlin as well as the new and evolving features of the Android OS.
  • The ability and desire to learn - as the industry changes rapidly, you should be comfortable with regularly learning new technologies, programming languages and platforms.
