Job Description

Are you looking for a flexible SEND TA role Do you have experience of working with children or adults with a range of special educational needs Are you flexible, positive, calm, patient and able to make a positive contribution within a special needs schoolWe are working with a fantastic SEND school which has sites in Bristol and require SEND teaching assistants to work on a day to day supply basis across the school - Early years, primary, secondary and post 16. They also have a specialist resource base thatcaters for students with challenging behaviour.The school provides bespoke educational programmes and positive behaviour support for children and young people with severe learning difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. The roles are demanding and challenging, but very rewarding.The role:

  • Working with a range of pupils who have severe and profound learning difficulties
  • A large number of pupils have challenging behaviours and are within the Autistic Spectrum.
  • Under the guidance of the teaching staff, you will provide direct support for the learning of individual children or groups of children to achieve defined progression targets
  • Experience and knowledge in working with children within a special needs setting is desirable.
  • You will be working a minimum of 3 days / week 8.30 - 3.30, term time only
Requirements:
  • The ability to use a reflective approach to learners, their learning and needs and be able to work creatively and proactively
  • Emotional resilience and an ability to engage learners is a must
  • energy, confidence and enthusiasm with a commitment to inclusion
  • Experience of working with children who demonstrate challenging behaviour is also desirable.
  • Have eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)
