Job Description

Do you have experience working with vulnerable people or do you have a passion for helping others Are you looking for a new role supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Are you resilient and compassionate Five Education are looking to recruit Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistants to work with young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. The school is a specialist secondary SEMH school, many of the children and young people at the schoolhave been excluded from school. Some of them have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This means that they struggle to regulate their own emotions and have a difficult time establishing and maintaining social relationships with peers. The role is located in Bristol, a car is not essential to get to the school. The work is 5 days a week, term time only and the hours are 8:30-15:30. You would be working 1:1 with children, at times the ratio of adults to children may be 2:1. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of working with children, young people or adults who display challenging behaviour. You will need to be compassionate, resilient and be able to establish an excellent rapport with hard-to-reach pupils.
