Five Education are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support KS3 Secondary students with SEMH needs in Bristol. This is a full-time position five days a week and requires someone experienced in working with teenagers with mental health needs.This is PRU School (Pupil referral unit) where the students have complex emotional needs and challenging behaviour. The candidate will be able to use de-escalation techniques and provide interventions to support their behaviour. The students have a range ofSEMH needs and are working at a KS2 level due to missing large amounts of school. Responsibilities Include:Be flexible and willing to support the students in the classroomProvide effective behaviour interventions Assisting students with their work in a 1:1 settingAssisting the teacher with differentiation in the classroomUsing behaviour management techniques to keep students calm and maintain a safe working environmentUsing positive reinforcement to effectively support students in the Provide an empathetic and calm approach to students emotional needsEssential Criteria:Patience, flexibility, and dedicationKnowledge of KS2 and KS3 curriculumAt least 12 months of experience working with children/vulnerable adults12 months of experience working with children who have SEN/SEMHHave an awareness and understanding of trauma and behaviour management A valid Team Teach certificate isnt essential but would be an advantageHave a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)Two recent child/vulnerable adult-based references and relevant DBS/Police checksAble to work 8.30-3.30 pm, 5 days per week term time onlyWhat can Five Education offer youOne of the best supply experiences in Bristol - check out our google reviews!
