You could be exactly what we need!We’re ideally looking for someone with:• A good understanding of security issues within a networked environment• Firewall administration experience• Experience analysing/monitoring network traffic or NetFlow• Good knowledgeof network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, computer networking, routing and switching)• Ability to adapt to new and changing situations, solve problems and develop new skills.About the roleThe Defensive Services team is responsible for the operation and development of central cyber security defensive services including the DDoS mitigation infrastructure in order to help mitigate the impact of attacks on the Janet national infrastructure and member organisations.This is a technical role within the Jisc security operations centre that is responsible for operating, maintaining and developing defensive services including DDoS mitigation and would be suitable for a network engineer looking to move more into the security field or a security analyst looking for a new challenge.You can expect to work closely with our CSIRT and Cyber Threat Intelligence teams as well as liaise with colleagues in Europe and internationally.Why work at JiscWe want to make sure our people have the flexibility they need to balance their personal lives and do well at work.
