Job Description

As a direct response to the crisis in Ukraine, this charitable organisation is urgently hiring a Resettlement Link Worker for their Homes for Ukraine service in South Gloucestershire.Homes for Ukraine will provide a range of practical and emotional support for Ukrainians seeking refuge in the UK.Resettlement Link Worker South Gloucestershire, BS16 2QQ £21, 541 - £27,041 Dependent on experience 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday however due to the nature of the role some degree of flexibility will be expected) Fixed Term Contract with potential for extension About You:Our client is looking for a dynamic and solution focused individual to link Ukrainian citizens with health and care support, and ensure that community integration begins.Your focus will be on supporting and empowering people of all ages that have been resettled in South Gloucestershire and helping them integrate and settle independently into their new lives in UK.As Resettlement Link Worker, you will:

  • Greet clients at their new home, helping them to settle in as well as possible
  • Work with sponsors to access peer-support and other resources
  • Provide an orientation of the local area, including access to local facilities and shops
  • Support clients with their financial needs - for example budgeting, setting up bank accounts, attending the job centre and applying for benefits, jobs and education training
  • Support those with children to apply for local schools and obtain school uniforms
  • Help clients register with public health services and access initial health assessments, such as with their local GP or mental health services
  • Support clients in a manner that prioritises their empowerment and independence
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Demonstrable training in the Health and Care field (ie - NVQ, BSc in a related health and care field)
  • Continual professional development in areas such as Motivational interviewing and MECC (Making Every Contact Count)
  • Understanding of refugee communities and/or experience working with vulnerable clients / clients with complex needs
  • Ability to manage a caseload and keep meticulous records
  • Ability to assess research and plan for identified support needs
  • Solution focussed approach
  • Organisational and IT skills
  • Understanding of professional boundaries, safe working practices, safeguarding
