Make a difference with usWe are looking for an ambitious, energetic, and value-driven individual to become our new Project / Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer.The difference our new Project / Supplier Qu ality Engineer will makeYou will be a member of a multi discipline project team, working to embed right first time Quality principles particularly within the supply chain as the projects embarks on a significant procurement phase. Your responsibilities will include:* Working with the supplier management team to identify, onboard, support and maintain performance with our suppliers, working collaboratively to achieve the desired value for our customer. * Support kick-off meetings at the suppliers premises, ensuring they understand our expectations and we capture any feedback, along with attending progress check visits and hosting customer inspections as required.* Youll be supporting the Quality leads who have responsibility for each of their respective elements of the overall Programme, responding to their requests for SQ expertise.Experience* Having worked in a similar role on specification and / or requirements based controls, you will have practical, hands-on experience in a related industry and will be familiar with how quality applies throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.* Experience of working with suppliers and customers and have an understanding of the benefits of collaborative relationships. * Experience of auditing quality ISO9001 management systems. * A working knowledge of quality tools and problem solving techniques (e.g. Pareto, FMEA, 5 whys, 8D, etc.) * Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and the ability to give previous examples.Skills and attributes* Strong attention to detail with the ability to review technical documentation.* Self-motivated, a strong team player that is also comfortable working autonomously.* Ability to understand engineering drawings, procedures and specifications of all disciplines.Education and qualifications * ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a quality, science, engineering discipline.* Membership of a recognised quality institute e.g. CQI would be desirable. * ISO 9001 auditor.In return for your skill and passion, youll get:* Flexible working (full or part time considered, minimum 30 hours per week)* Autonomy to perform the role* The opportunity to make a real impact, partnering on an ambitious culture transformation programme within Babcocks fastest growing business unit* Free, independent employee assistance programme, offering confidential information, support and counselling, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year* Professional memberships, personal development training and opportunities* If you are a reservist in the armed forces, we provide up to ten days special paid leave in support of your training commitmentsWhere it all fits in:Mission Systems forms a critical, and growing part of Babcocks Marine organisation.
