Job Description

Your new roleAs a Project Manager working with in the Complex Infrastructure Projects (CIP) you will work alongside a team to deliver the A303 Amesbury to Berwick Down (Stonehenge) Project, improving the A303 through the important Stonehenge world heritage site. The project is currently going through the procurement process, looking at tenders for the preliminary and main works. This role will require you to have strong communication skills and empathy as you deal with land owners and the acquisition of their land. You will need be delivery focussed and comfortable with engaging with stakeholders at all levels. A key part of the role will be identifying and evaluating emerging risks, issues, and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary, you will develop, agree and implement solutions to overcome these.What youll be leading on

  • Land matters for the project aligned with its relevant consents
  • Be the leading interface between the project, Highways Englands advisors and landowners
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the Project Directors, CIP technical leads to ensure mutual understanding of the projects strategic and delivery objectives
  • Report on and review project performance in a timely and accurate manner, and to agree solutions that resolve complex issues.
  • Design, agree and implement project plans, to ensure that all activities are appropriately organised to deliver project objectives, are appropriately resourced to deliver the required outcomes.
  • To be successful
  • Proven experience of managing complex relationships with multiple stakeholders, specifically landowners and evidence of skills to influence relationships for positive outcomes
  • Significant experience of delivering multifaceted complex projects in a fast paced environment, monitoring own and teams work against milestones or targets, to maintain performance (ideally with an appropriate project management qualification).
  • Experience of engaging, collaborating and communicating effectively with colleagues and staff at all levels and with different technical understanding to achieve a common goal and progress on objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills to gather and use evidence to assess costs, benefits and risks of a wide range of delivery options when making business or commercial decisions
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills to convey complex information to a wide audience and clarify understanding of stakeholder expectations, to determine options and inform effective decision making.
