Job Description

RSR Police, part of the Red Snapper Group is a trusted recruitment partner to UK policing and Law Enforcement Agencies. We recruit job profession from all sectors to provide organisation the talent to deliver effective and efficient policing.The National Crime Agency (NCA), a national law enforcement agency has an opportunity available for a Project Accountant to work on a 9-month agency assignment based in Bristol.As the Project Accountant, you will provide support to NCA Finance team and help implement the action plan for Financial Accounting function and meet the internal/external audit demands for the 2020/21 year.If you have previous expertise in government finances as Project Accountant and looking for a wide-ranging finance role within the public sector, then please contact the recruitment team to express your interest.The daily pay rate for this position is £210 per day outside of IR35 plus agency benefits package.Responsibilities

  • Review and enhancement of the Financial Accounting action plan for the year - Oct’20.
  • Help conduct Asset Impairment Review the International Financial Reporting Standard IFRS16 Review - Q3.
  • Hands-on work to prepare and deliver successful audit with significant progress demonstrated in closing NAO recommendations from previous year.
  • Develop necessary financial policies - Q3, Q4.
  • Successful year-end audit with significant reductions in audit errors identified compared with last year.
  • Technical reporting in accounting issues and complex transactions.
  • Develop wider finance staff in Financial Accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)/IFRS standards.
  • Support NCA finance team to develop policies, apply accounting standards and introduce processes that will uplift the technical competence and overall capability of the finance in financial accounting and control.
    • Experience
  • CCAB-qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS and Chartered Accountants Ireland)
  • Expertise in government finances.
  • Proficient in GAAP and IFRS standards and in particular fixed assets, IFR16, provisions.
  • Proficient in leading practises for Financial Accounting policies and procedures that lead to best-in class’ Financial Accounting function.
  • Experience in managing senior stakeholders and influencing compliance with control processes.
  • Excellent collaborating and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organisation and problem solving skills.
