Job Description

Job Title: Principal Transport PlannerLocation: BristolSalary: £35,000 - £45,000The Organisation:The specialist transport planning consultancy operates out of five offices UK wide and over over the past 17 years has expanded its offering to also include highway engineering, drainage design, flood risk assessments & land developmentTheir well-established team in Bristol is now looking for a Principal Transport Planner who has an extensive background within consultancy based transport planning and a strong understanding of the development planning process.You will have the opportunity to work on a range of major development schemes across the South West, along with a number of framework projects.Candidate Specification:

  • Degree level education (Geography, Transport Planning);
  • Proficiency with Arcady & Picady / Junctions9;
  • Experience using CAD, Excel & GIS;
  • Strong communication & presentation skills;
  • Extensive experience in consultancy transport planning;
  • Strong report writing skills, including transport assessments & statements;
  • Highly competent project manager;
  • Capable of managing & mentoring more junior staff;
  • Business development experience would be beneficial.

  • Production of transport assessments & statements;
  • Feasibility studies;
  • Preliminary designs;
  • Junction capacity modelling;
  • GIS Mapping;
  • Project management;
  • Dealing with planning appeals.
    • If successful, you will join a specialist team in Bristol, who have developed a strong reputation within the market over the past 20 years.
