Job Description

Were working with an international distributor that helps to solve supply chain issues for some of the worlds largest health and beauty manufacturers including Rimmel London, Schwarzkopf, Hugo Boss, and Calvin Klein. With over 30 years of experience, theyspecialise in identifying new markets and alternative distribution channels that give new life to brands. They have built a solid reputation and have trusted network of contacts around the world.They have plans to take their system to the next level and are looking to recruit a Full Stack Developer who will work directly with the Head of Development. Joining a small team of 3, youll have plenty of input in key decisions and scope to grow with therole and take on additional responsibilities.The skills were looking for:
  • A minimum of 3 years commercial experience as a Software Developer.
  • Previous PHP and JavaScript experience.
  • Knowledge of SOLID principles when writing OOP code.
  • An understanding of writing testable code.
  • A desire to design and implement high-quality solutions, ensuring theyre maintainable and scalable.
  • Collaborative, great communication skills and keen to learn.
Bonus points for
  • Any experience with Symfony/Vue/Node/PostgreSQL/AWS - although training can be provided.
What youll be doing:You can expect an autonomous environment where you are fully supported and encouraged to share ideas. Working closely with the Head of Development, youll be able to share ideas and will help to influence and shape the technical vision and will be involvedin decisions relating to architecture and future development.For the past few years, they have been developing a bespoke back-end system and B2B customer portal. There are big plans ahead and this role will be key in helping to take the platform to the next level. The role will be more backend leaning (probably 70:30)and the tech stack youll be working with is PHP 8.1 and Symfony 6 back-end with VueJS on the front. They also have some NodeJS for microservices handling and Python for analysis. They work with PostgreSQL and the AWS environment is handled in-house so youllwork with these extensively too. They aim for a high level of test coverage with unit, pipeline, and functional tests which are executed pre-release using their Jenkins-based CI pipeline.What youll get in return for your talents:The role is remote-first with fortnightly visits to their Bristol-based offices which will be fully expensed, although if you want to come into the office more regularly you would be welcome to. Youll receive a salary of up to £50k, 28 days holiday a year,and plenty of opportunities to learn and progress within the role.
