The role is a permanent full-time role, with a competitive salary of up to £32k per annum depending on experience. This sits alongside a benefits package designed to nurture your wellbeing and personal development.About the roleAs Pukkas Packaging Technologist youll champion not just our packaging quality but its sustainability. Working closely across the Marketing, Herbal/Quality and Procurement teams you will deliver and drive improvements within our existing product ranges and support the successful execution of our new product development. From compostable film materials to automated lidding applications, new mug ceramics to starch formed trays, no two days are the same in this highly varied role as you will cover the breadth of work on our packaging solutions. Pukka are passionate about driving sustainability throughout our product design and this is at the heart of our packaging decisions. As the Packaging Technologist youll ensure our products are produced safely and consistently whilst maintaining our sustainability improvements. Communication of these complex assessments must be clear to ensure consumer messaging is never misleading.Skilled at coordinating between multiple parties and stakeholders, you will work to find resolutions to issues by suggesting process and material improvements and ensure continuity of supply across the portfolio. You will attend site meetings and trials with third party manufacturers (with Covid-19 restrictions this is less frequent) and work quickly and efficiently to help provide issues resolution, cost improvements and meet Pukkas sustainability targets.Finally, as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) you will support across Pukka on the packaging, materials and manufacturing application. With a good working knowledge of packaging standards, risk assessments and challenges youll be a go-to expert for the business who can provide in-depth support and solutions.About youWith proven technical understanding and expertise surrounding multiple packaging formats and materials, you will be able to draw on your previous experience working as a Packaging Technologist or Packaging Engineer supporting change and improvements. Importantly this must have been within outsourced manufacturing environments. With experience of working within an FMCG or a fast-paced organisation supporting consumer product delivery, you will be skilled at managing a diverse range of stakeholders and distilling complex packaging detail to different audiences.With a passion for working with new material technologies to drive sustainability improvements, this will be underpinned by a good understanding of EU & Global Direct Food Contact Packaging legislation and risk assessments. Experience of printed packaging and artwork controls processes is desirable but not essential.Drawing on your project management skills, youll have a proven track record of delivering and coordinating multiple, complex, technical projects. Youll be highly organised, and able to reprioritise as events demand it.
