The Company:Our client is a leading software development company for sports and racing solutions globally. They are a growing organisation and they work with some of the gaming industrys largest and most consequential operators and racetracks.The Job:As a Network Service Engineer, you will report into the Network Service Team Lead. In this role you will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd line support to customers based across Europe, troubleshooting, logging and resolving various technical issueswith common and bespoke applications, and monitoring networking equipment, server infrastructure and IPTV systems. This is a shift-based position, between 8am-11pm on a rota basis 7 days a week. They offer a hybrid working environment, but there will be regularweekly attendance in their Bristol office:Responsibilities will include: Microsoft OS desktop support and remote administration, via VNC or RDP Using non-gui based Linux for remote login, reading and editing files, understanding log file information, system utilisation, and restarting services Call logging, describing detailed and accurate diagnostics with resolution Resolving clients technical issues Working as part of a highly collaborative team on a shift rotation basisThe Person:For this role its essential you have good knowledge of Linux command line configuration, support and networking, good with IP addressing and routing. You will also be the first point of contact for customer support so should have good customer liaisonskills:As well as this you may also have the following skills and experience: Experience building server hardware/software, tested and ready for deployment Experience installing OS on both Windows and Linux with installing software, including updates/inhouse development enhancements Experience with scripting and automation Experience using and understanding of monitoring tools - PRTG, MRTG, Nagios, Zenoss, etc. Working knowledge of networkingIP addressing and subnets, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, switches and routers Experience providing technical support to customers with varying degrees of IT capabilitiesThe Salary:Up to £32,000The Benefits25 days holiday, Profit Bonus based on performance Hybrid work model, ability to work some shifts remotely Highly competitive short term incentive plan: with bi-annual payments and attractive bonus entitlements Bespoke learning management system and study support options Regular social events, team building Comprehensive EAP, health checks, insurance discounts and wellbeing initiativesThe Hours:35 hours per week, office and home based shift rota 7 days per week
