You can make an impact on the success of our business and that of our customers regardless of what career you decide to pursue.What will you be doingYou will be working within the Architecture & Engineering team which has responsibility for network architecture, engineering, standards, solution consulting and escalated support of network and security infrastructure.The teams primary role is to engineer networks and solutions within and between the hosting environments, Associate (Employee) sites, supported customer premises and public cloud.This role requires an experienced and talented network design engineer, and has specific focus on DNS architecture and engineering, in addition to assumed knowledge and expertise in the areas of routing, switching, wireless, load balancing, and firewall skills.Key duties

  • Work as part of global team, and in partnership with platform and software teams, to design and implement network infrastructure in datacentres, employee sites, public cloud and in support of customer deployments.
  • Design and deploy DNS infrastructures supporting internal and external requirements.
  • Develop and manage standards and design templates for network infrastructure and services.
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure documentation to agreed standards.
  • Develop and maintain network infrastructure deployment and management processes.
  • Provide consulting for major/complex customer and business projects.
  • Escalation point to assist troubleshooting and resolution of chronic and complex issues.
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of new and emerging technologies that could benefit the services and network products that the business uses and provides to its customers.
  • Support the selection of products and partners for integration in the structure and delivery of network services and infrastructure.
  • Provide infrastructure and support documentation and training to Networks Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Work extended hours where necessary, and undertake other duties that may reasonably be requested.
  • Key experience
  • Good knowledge, understanding and experience is expected of the following :
  • Key DNS technologies and standards (BIND, Microsoft, Big-IP, etc), including integration with IPAM platforms. For example Proteus, SolarWinds.
  • Routing and switching technologies and protocols is essential. TCP/UDP, IP, IPSEC, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, ICMP, etc.
  • Virtualisation technologies and cloud services.
  • F5 and NGINX Load Balancing and services.
  • Firewalls, network security and IDP. In particular ASA, FTD, Fortinet; IXIA, Suricata and Splunk monitoring and reporting.
  • Designing, building and supporting large-scale, complex and highly available infrastructure and services to and within datacentres, employee sites and connectivity to external Business Partners and Customer environments.
  • SolarWinds, ThousandEyes monitoring platforms and tools.
  • Capacity planning, QoS, and intelligent/optimal path selection.
  • Financial aspects of infrastructure design, deployment and management.Designing, configuring and troubleshooting VoIP, VPN encryption technologies, modern switching platforms, and firewalls. Including policy implementation and capacity management.</sp
