Job Description

Job Title: Naval Architecture EngineerPlease note this role is inside IR35 and you must either be currently security cleared of eligible of clearance.Job Skills Requirements:

  • A Senior Naval Architect, Chartered Engineer or equivalent, with 5 or more yearsexperience working at that level. If not Chartered, then candidates must have a minimum of9 years experience and evidence of ongoing CPD and relevant innovation in recent tasksmust be provided
  • Recent experience (last 3 years) of working on naval ship pre-concept and/or conceptdesign studies, especially frigates and future combatants, including understanding keydesign drivers and the impacts of combat and marine system choices
  • Recent experience (last 3 years) of designing for modular and off-board capabilities,including knowledge of unmanned systems (UXVs) and related launch & recoverytechnologies
  • Recent experience (last 3 years) of assessing platform options and establishing cost-benefit drivers through analysis of a range of scenarios (e.g. fleet mix), including alternativeacquisition models (e.g. military conversion) with a good understanding of the cost profilingfor a new ship acquisition programme;
  • Experience of Naval Ship Design & Defence Standards
  • Ability, experience, and proof of producing high quality, well-structured and logically writtenreports within tight timescales that clearly communicate an understanding of the task, thework carried out, conclusions and recommendations made to the sponsor
  • Team player but able to work with minimum of supervision.
