Job Description

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for an LTQR Technician (18 months FTC) to join our Major Projects team to work in Avonmouth, Bristol.Role purposeTo be a member of the Project Information Management Team. To maintain the LTR documentation and recordsAs a LTQR Technician (18 months FTC), your main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Assist with the compilation of Life Time Record production and coordinate submission within Business Collaborator (BC), in line with both company and quality control procedures (BS EN ISO:9001);
  • Gain understanding of regulatory requirements, specification requirements and contractual requirements;
  • Understand and comply with LTQR documentation requirements and process records through approved workflows;
  • Monitor and track progressive submission’ approach of LTQR’s to the client in line with their requirements;
  • Understand and comply with the processes necessary for timely appropriate document submissions;
  • Meet tight deadlines in line with the programme, milestones dates and certification requirements;
  • Ensure all records have passed through SME / SQEP review.Offer advice and support to both the project team and interested parties, as required;
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all interested parties.Improve the overall quality of the final product/service and improve BBs efficiency and resource on a day-to-day basis;
  • Supporting the business unit external accreditation process(including ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 and industry licences) to ensure it is able to operate in its chosen sector.
  • The following qualities and experience are essential:
  • Experience of document control in Major Civil Engineering projects or Nuclear projects;
  • Experience of information management in the UK Nuclear sector;
  • Knowledge and experience of working to UK and international standards and codes of practice for the UK Nuclear sector;
  • Relevant CSCS Card;
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 required;
  • Advanced information and communication technology skills;
  • Competent user of modern office computer systems e.g. Microsoft Office;
  • Full working knowledge of databases;
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Experience or extensive knowledge of working within systems and procedures;
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under minimum supervision;
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills;
  • Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion;
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Is a self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to their function;
  • Able to work within a multi-discipline team;
  • Can demonstrate initiative and resilience;
  • UK/EU National or holder of Security Clearance.
  • The following qualities and experience are desirable:
  • Previous experience working within document control;
  • Contractual awareness and a basic understanding of the market would be beneficial;
  • Any form of document management or ISO 9001 accreditation.
