Reed Technology is delighted to be working with a Bristol based organisation with their search for a Linux Systems Engineer to join their passionate and friendly team.Working within the organisations technical team this role will be responsible for provided specialist technical expertise to develop and maintain the organisations core infrastructure.What this role will be doing:- Updating, maintaining, and the security of a number of Linux servers (and the occasional Windows-based servers)- Database administration and maintenance- Assisting with infrastructure design, planning and implementing improvements- Researching new technologies and making suggestions on how these can be of benefit- Application support- Server administration – AWS, Azure and VmwareThe successful candidate:- Strong linux experience (Ubuntu or other Debian-based Linux (exposure to other UNIX systems such as Solaris is an advantage)- Excellent Shell scripting skills (BASH)- Experience of using a full suite of configuration management and compliance tools (e.g. Chef, Cookstyle, Chefspec, InSpec)- Demonstrable experience of administering web application and database servers and with messaging application servers and other Internet computing technologies, including load balancingIf you are interested in this fantastic opportunity please apply online or for more information please contact me on
