Job Description

The RoleAs Lead Developer you`ll be working in an agile team to design, build and support quality software solutions on our web and mobile platforms, integrating with core platforms and third-party services to meet the needs of our stakeholders, promote our brand and enhance our customer experience.You will determine and implement appropriate technologies, toolkits and frameworks; leading projects in your area of specialism and learning new skills to support development in others. Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to learn are key to this exciting role!This role is Bristol-based - currently homeworkingWhat You`ll Be Doing

  • You`ll be the development lead, ensuring the quality and performance of the delivery
  • Delivering application features and changes to meet the agreed requirements, with a focus on coding guidelines and security
  • Helping to create frameworks and guidelines for automated tests
  • Supporting the test, production, release and support teams in triaging and resolving issues that arise during the development lifecycle
  • Communicating with stakeholders within and outside IT about progress, risks and issues
  • Building relationships with relevant business users and the development and support teams, as well as actively participating in the Agile Development team
  • Building for resilience and reliability, ensuring consideration for ongoing maintenance requirements and reduction of technical debt
  • What We`re Looking for in You
  • Extensive experience in design and delivery of software in a commercial environment
  • Knowledge of source control, continuous integration, code coverage, static analysis, load testing and functional testing tools
  • Ability to leverage a wide variety of tools, techniques and technologies to deliver the best solution (we currently use dotNet, dotNetCore, Containers, JavaScript, IIS, Node.js, ES6 Javascript, Cloud based DevOps, React and React native, RESTful web services, GraphQL, SQL, No-SQL, HTML, CSS - list not exhaustive)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Good experience with Azure, docker containers and Azure Kubernetes
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, service-oriented manner
