Are you a Lab Technician or graduate in Food Product Development, Nutrition or Science with a background or interest in natural and herbal medicine Are you looking for a full-time opportunity that supports both the Herbal Development and Quality activities of a purposeful, sustainable, and organic brandBased in our award-winning Bristol head office The Herb House, the Lab Technician role is fixed term for 15 months. The role is full-time and has a salary of £20,500 per annum alongside a brilliant benefits package designed to nurture your wellbeing and personal development.About the opportunityThis exciting opportunity requires a flexible and proactive candidate to join us and support across our Quality and Herbal Development teams. Reporting to the Herbal Development Manager, this role will cover a range of both administrative and hands-on tasks that support the fast-paced and agile activities of Pukka.Day to day you will cover a number of different laboratory activities that range from producing development recipes and collating feedback based upon sensory testing to modify new and existing products that are in development. Youll also quality assess raw materials, liaise with partner laboratories and blending partners, prepare tasting panels, and maintain an inventory and archive of raw material samples.About youWith previous laboratory experience or qualified with a degree in Food Science, Nutrition or Herbal Medicine, youll ideally have some experience working in a food or food supplement business. With an interest in natural medicine, recipe development, or healing traditions and science, youll also have a good understanding of the broader context of the environmental movement, especially organic agriculture, and Fairtrade and FairWild standards.With good organisational skills, youll be able to plan, focus and prioritise your work effectively. Communicating well across the two teams is essential, and youll be naturally collaborative and build great working relationships.
