Im currently recruiting for an excellent client of mine, a large blue chip organisation based in North Bristol. They are recruiting for a Field Engineer to work on a 6 month fixed term contract to help assist with the upgrading and installation of new infrastructure.This will involve the setting up of IT equipment at the practice, QA control of all equipment and workstations to ensure they fit the corporate standard and working with the project manager and site staff to minimise downtime and keep disruption to a minimum. The Field Engineering team also provide support that cannot be provided remotely. This will involve on-site troubleshooting and fault repair with IT infrastructure and medical digital imagery equipment. Equipment includes servers, workstations, switches and wireless equipment. The role involves significant travel across the UK and Ireland and as such a company car is provided, although work from home will also feature under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager.Skills:-Essential:*Active Directory (good working knowledge)*Windows Server and Client Operating Systems (excellent)*Dell and HP Procurve managed Layer 2/2+ switching (good working knowledge)*Dell and HP Server Hardware (incl. iDrac and iLO) (excellent)*Wireless networking (ideally Cisco Meraki)*Structured cabling / patching (excellent)*Microsoft Office 2010 through to O365 (good working knowledge)*Microsoft Hyper-V experienceDesirable:*Microsoft SharePoint*Medical Digital Imagery experience*Powershell knowledge*MCSA / MCSE qualifications*Cisco qualifications*Familiar with CIS20 controls and the NIST framework (awareness of; not necessarily working knowledge)In return, they offer:-Salary£40,000 pa + £4,800 pa car allowanceOther BenefitsContributory pension; discount in over 7000 retailersAnnual Leave25 DaysThis is a brilliant opportunity to get a blue chip company on your CV, with the potential for having the contract extended.
