Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experiencedInternalCommunications Manager to join FirstBus, to help us manage and shareourtransformation story through a period of structural change, withinternal audiences.At a time of significant change in the organisation, the role will support the Head of Communicationswith the management of all internalcommunicationsactivities, includingengagement and recognition related activity. The InternalCommunications Manager willalso use their experience and network to introduce innovation and best practice, particularly focusing on opportunities to improve internalcommunications and employee engagement.You can be based anywhere in the UK, however there will be some travel on occasion, to our Leeds and Bristol hubs.What will you be doing

  • Managing, maintaining and executing a clear annual calendar of campaigns
  • Working with key DivisionalStakeholders to develop, design and execute InternalCommmunicationcampaigns across the Division that reinforce FirstBus strategy, in particularour People Strategy and Employee Value Proposition
  • Managing the campaigns process from initiallyunderstanding the brief, to managingstakeholders and agencies, through to writing copy, managing channels and fronting internal events
  • Developing a sound understanding of our audience and channels to allow you to make decisions about approach and execution, including thorough measurement and analytics, to inform your recommendations and demonstrate success
  • Contributing and supporting the development and delivery of the FirstBusInternalCommunications Strategy and FirstBusDivisional Strategy
  • Building strong relationshipswithstakeholders across the division and the wider Group including, Media Relations, Marketing and Digital Teams
  • Supporting leaders and managers to be effective communicators, includingsupportingwithpresentation style, tone of voice and key messages
  • Developing and implementing a range of tactical communications to support business change, including writing compelling content that is aligned to our tone of voice, creating best practice line manager briefing packs and event managementsupport (e.g. briefings)
  • Managingmeasurement reports for campaigns and channels on a regular basis to inform decision making and form an understanding of audience preferences and trends
What we are looking for
  • Technical capability in using all Microsoft programmes and design packages e.g. Photoshop and email software such as Poppulo or Bananatag
  • A competent all-rounder with extensive experience in understanding key messages, devising creatives and executing impactful and engaging campaigns to deadlines and on a budget
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box
  • Excellent writing skills, withexperience of content creation for a variety of audiences and channels
  • Busexperience is not a pre-requisite, but an appreciation of the key challenges facing the public transport sector and its people is essential
  • A confidentcommunicatorwith strong interpersonal, influencing and coaching skills; able to effectively engage and influence at all levels of the business
  • Excellent planning and prioritisation skills; experience of managing complex communication projects
