This 12-month maternity cover could be your ticket to a permanent spot in the finance team. As the Financial Controller, youll be the right-handto the CFO, playing a pivotal role in steering sustainable business growth through strategic financial management and insightful analysis. If youre a hands-on strategist with a knack for both big-picture planning and day-to-day operational finesse, we wantto hear from you!Details:Role: Interim Financial ControllerDuration: 12 months (MAT cover)Salary: £65k-£70KBasis: Full time or Part time consideredHybrid: 2-3 days working from homeKey ResponsibilitiesAs the Financial Controller, you will:

  • Oversee financial operations, including AR, AP, payroll, revenue recognition, treasury, and budgeting.
  • Manage and support the finance assistant.
  • Handle month-end close processes, including key balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, deferred & accrued income).
  • Collaborate with external accountants for year-end accounts and tax processes.
  • Implement and manage revenue recognition across projects and oversee project reporting.
  • Team up with the CFO on budgeting, financial forecasts, sales pipeline analysis, and analytical review.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and tackle technical accounting issues.
  • Maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Develop and document business processes to fortify internal controls.
Key Skills, Experience, and BehavioursWe are scouting for a tech-savvy candidate who:
  • Is a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Boasts advanced Excel skills.
  • Navigates cloud accounting software (Xero, Pleo, Payfit, Dext) with finesse.
  • Has experience in finance process implementation and improvement.
  • Can present financial information with confidence to non-financial audiences.
  • Knows the ropes of managing a team.
