Job Description

Interim Business Support Senior AdministratorREF: BRIADM.07.22 Location: BristolBusiness Support Senior Administrator - £25,294 to £ 27,484 p.a.Wessex Archaeology is one of the largest and successful independent archaeological practices in the UK. Our staff work on projects around the world, from our UK officesin Salisbury, Bristol, Edinburgh, Meopham and Sheffield; with an expanding network of international offices. The position: We are seeking an experienced, organised Business Support Senior Administrator to join the Wessex Archaeology Business Support Team working in our Bristol office on a one-year contract, spending 50% of time supporting the regional team and 50% on projectsfor the national Business Support team. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a busy office and looking to further develop their skills and experience. The successful candidate will be a proactive individual who enjoys a varied workload,has excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills. The role will include various administrative support with key tasks outlined below:

  • Delivering office support covering reception, switchboard, ordering stationery, kitchen supplies, managing post/couriers, coordinating desk bookings and office inductions for new joiners and visitors
  • Managing Bristol office training and certifications records, booking training courses and liaising with Salisbury Logistics team
  • Co-ordinating maintenance and facilities support, liaising with the Facilities team in Salisbury, where appropriate
  • Organising accommodation, site supplies, PPE and vehicles for deployment on projects
  • Processing timesheets and expenses, both locally and assisting, where required, nationally
  • Raising purchase orders and invoicing for internal and external projects
  • Booking national and international travel
  • Managing credit card and petty cash purchases, logging transactions
  • Providing secretariat support to national meetings
  • Ad hoc projects both locally and nationally
Essential:
  • Previous experience of working collaboratively within a business support/administrative role
  • Confident in using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Previous experience using finance systems or project management software
  • Educated to GCSE level with Math and English Grade 4 or above (previously Grade C or above) or equivalent
  • Ability to build strong working relationships
  • Ability to work independently across various internal teams
Desirable
  • Relevant administrative qualification e.g. secretarial qualification, NVQ Business Administration qualification,
  • Experience of using Microsoft 365 tools e.g. Teams and planner. (Training will be provided if required).
