Job Description

Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we actas an extension of our clients recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence. They are committed to innovation and the continual pursuit of improvement,and with a brand holding over 100 years of service they are now developing their technology capabilities, venturing into new markets, and building their customer base further.On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for an Inspector on a 12-Month contract based within the clients site in Bristol.Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence.Inspector daily duties:

  • Inspection of castings using appropriate plant, equipment and techniques.
  • Working to inspection procedure card specifications and drawings, confirming with quality acceptance standards.
  • Completing inspection documentation as necessary including logging and detailing defects on specified blades and NGVs.
  • Raising scrap, correction or salvage documentation.
  • Booking work through computer terminal and checking priorities.
  • Working in a team environment to ensure shiftly tasks are achieved.
  • Escalate issues that affect shift output.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • As an Inspector you must have good communication skills
  • You must be able to follow set procedures
  • As an Inspector you must be willing to take ownership and drive improvement
  • You must be able to work within a team environment
  • Proactive with regards to health and safety
  • Computer literate - basic Excel knowledge.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Previous Inspection experience preferable within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Able to work to clearly defined work instruction.
  • Flexible and willing to exceed expectation with proactive approach to working.
  • Continuously looks for improved ways of working remaining resilient to overcome any obstacles.
  • Ability to read a component drawing
  • Problem solving skills, the ability to get to the root cause of a problem and resolve ambiguity with other team members.
  • Ability to stay calm and work under pressure in a fast-manufacturing environment.
  • NVQ Level 3 or Time served apprenticeship
