Job Description

Robert Half are working with an established professional services business based in Central Bristol to recruit and Infrastructure & Security Engineer on a permanent basis.Role DescriptionThis role would ideally suit an experience IT Infrastructure Engineer who can manage/own Active Directory, Corporate-level Firewalls, Security, and General Networking. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills alongwith strong customer-focussed communication and collaboration abilitiesThe role will be a part of the IT Services Team, working closely alongside an existing Cloud Engineer to plan and prepare the organisations systems for future migration into MS Azure as well as ensuring their efficient and secure day-to-day operation.The Bristol office will be the default location, however hybrid working is available ona 2-3 day weekly cycle.Role Responsibilities:Infrastructure Administration:

  • Manage SAN and Hyper-V Server clusters which host applications, including AD, web, database, and file servers
  • Manage Active Directory and Azure AD and assist developers in architecting Azure for future application deployment
  • Manage the Azure deployments and upgrade of installed applications
  • Manage Security around AD and Azure, including port forwarding and reverse proxying
  • Understand products and create appropriate infrastructure documentation to support them.
  • Maintain SQL Server and monitor performance
  • Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and access points
  • Manage backups of systems, databases and shared folders both on-prem and cloud-based
  • Optimize network performance and reliability
  • Create, implement, and test Business Continuity Procedures
Systems Security Administration:
  • Review internal systems and AD / Azure security
  • Configure and maintain firewall rules and policies to ensure network security.
  • Test for vulnerabilities on all infrastructure
  • Perform internal penetration testing, organise external testing
  • Test for XSS on Websites
  • Manage Service Account Management (permissions and rights)
  • Manage API Security (OAUTH)
  • Manage RBAC/PIM
Experience:Required - at least 5 years of hands-on experience with:
  • Strong Active Directory administration
  • Server and SAN hardware (ideally HP),
  • LAN hardware (switches/APs)
  • Corporate level firewall management.
  • Proficient understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, subnetting and routing protocols.
Advantageous:
  • Experience of managing Azure and Azure AD
  • Microsoft SQL Server administration
  • Relevant Microsoft / CompTia qualifications
  • Corporate level firewalls, Wireless APs and clients
  • Power Automate
  • Software systems testing
  • ITIL / ISO27001
Package:
  • £60,000 - £65,000 + additional benefits
