Job Description

We have a fantastic new HR Advisor role working for a values led, Bristol based business serving Bristol and surrounding areas.The roleThis is a broad, generalist HR Advisor role, supporting circa 100 employees’ responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a generalist HR advisory service delivered through effective business partnering to all areas of the association ensuring the highest levels of service are provided to both colleagues and managers.
  • Partnering with managers and Executive team members to deliver a proactive service addressing issues before they escalate and supporting the organisation to provide an excellent service to its customers, adapting and developing to changing business needsand business growth.
  • Providing professional first line of support to managers, coaching them to create a culture of high performance within their teams and taking ownership; advising on the management of employee relations issues.
  • Providing advice and support in relation to HR related business including organisational structures, resourcing, training & development, succession plans, performance management, remuneration & benefits, people policies & practices and employment legislation.
  • Providing contribution to the development of the People Strategy and HR delivery plans.
  • Working with the HR Manager and People Director to deliver the EDI and Wellbeing strategies for the association as well as leading with colleague communication through the colleague forum.
  • Leading on the delivery of the colleague engagement programme and maintaining Best Companies certification.
  • Leading on learning, development and talent management for the association ensuring effective learning interventions and training is in place with a focus on personal development and driving internal promotion.
  • Leading on bespoke HR and cross functional projects providing people related expertise as required.
  • Assisting with recruitment related activities and supporting where required with colleague onboarding.
The person
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of UK employment legislation
  • Experience of providing detailed advice and guidance on a full range of HR topics
  • Experience of partnering with departments and executive team members to provide proactive HR support.
  • Previous experience in supporting talent management.
  • Experience of producing management information and coaching managers through data-based change.
  • Experience of coaching managers with ER issues, including disciplinary and grievances
  • Experience of managing HR projects and delivering change
  • Experience of ED&I
  • Experience in coordinating L&D programmes
  • Good communications skills
  • Able to influence and coach.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Resilient and motivated
The salary£34,800 plus free car parking, 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus one volunteering day and the ability to buy up to five additional days, £700 flexi-benefit that can be used towards breaks away, treatments, counselling, fitness activities etc,6.16% pension contribution, life assurance, 14 weeks full pay sick pay and 14 weeks half pay, interest free loan of up to £1000, development opportunities, paid professional membership.Hours Monday to Thursday 9am - 5.30pm and 9am to 5pm on a Friday with 1 hour for lunchStart date.ASAPLocationCentral Bristol/hybrid working (two days in the office a week)
