Job Description

HR AdvisorBristol Up to £38k p.aOur client, a leading provider within the medical sector, has an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join their team!The role:

  • Support operational partners and line managers by working with them to plan requirements around aspects of the people lifecycle.
  • Support the development of the HR offer by working with Operational Partners to implement people processes in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with recruiting managers to plan and co-ordinate advertising campaigns, ensuring that the methods used are appropriate to the role.
  • Work proactively to ensure that recruitment campaigns are administered effectively and ensure that resourcing requirements are met.
  • Work closely with the Resourcing Team to ensure that the end-to-end recruitment process is efficiently administered.
  • Support recruitment by taking part in interviews where appropriate; ensuring candidates are suitable for the role and a good fit for the business.
  • Ensure pre-employment checks are completed in a timely manner and records are kept of all checks.
  • Work closely with the HR Administrator, proactively co-ordinate HR administrative processes, ensuring a high degree of accuracy and delivery of an excellent service to candidates, employees, managers, and contractors.
  • Produce and maintain timely and accurate records relating to the advice provided and interventions in respect of HR issues, e.g., letters, file notes, etc.
  • Ensure a high degree of data accuracy in the HR Information System (BambooHR)
  • Support Operational Directors in OJVs to ensure compliance of their businesses in relation to people processes
  • Provide first level advice to line managers on ER matters such as sickness management, probation, and performance management, escalating as required.
  • Provide administrative support across all HR processes including performance, absence management, disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Support the development of policies and procedures, including researching, and drafting policies & procedures, and producing guidance information.
  • Coordinate employee induction and mandatory training programmes, including delivery of local induction to new employees.
  • Take part in the design, delivery and promotion of all learning and development activity e.g., courses, iLearn
  • Complete the administration of the payroll, ensuring accurate reports for starters, and leavers, contractual changes, overtime, bank hours, unpaid leave and maternity / paternity leave are sent onto the HRSSC for processing by the deadline.
  • Participate in HR team meetings and the operations management meetings to provide updates on process developments and keep abreast of key HR issues that line managers are experiencing.
Key skills/ experience:
  • Minimum CIPD Level 3 Foundation, and preferably studying or completed Level 5 Intermediate.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a HR Advisor or HR Officer role within a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience of dealing with routine HR queries and giving advice as necessary
  • Experience of managing employee relations matters effectively.
  • Lead user of an HR Information System with an ability to use reporting functions.
  • Experience of coordinating straight forward employment processes - e.g., learning and development, sickness management, payroll
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software packages to produce own word processing, basic excel spreadsheets, email, etc.
