Job Description

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Avonmouth area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 2 Drivers (CAT C) to join the team.Hours: Working 5 shifts out of 7 (weekends included) on days (start times between 6am-6:45am) or nights (start times between 11pm-3am).Pay Rate: Days - £12.87, rising to £13.52 after 12 weeks / Nights - £14.50, rising to £15.15 after 12 weeksLocation: Avonmouth, BS11Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidateThe role:

  • Securely moving and transporting palletised parcels to and from sub depots and delivery units.
  • Handling runs with 1-4 delivery stops, focusing on safe driving and maintaining accurate paperwork.
  • Utilise tail lift and pump truck equipment for loading and unloading.
  • Interacting with customers and representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Empty the vehicle and refuel at the end of each shift.
  • Complete a theory and practical assessment to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards and then complete a few days paid training if assessment is successful.
Requirements:
  • Full UK driving licence with Class 2 entitlement (category C).
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Ability to operate tail lift and pump truck equipment.
  • Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
  • Excellent communication skills.
