Head of Transport Planning required in Bristol, Exeter or London to 60/70K NegJob type: PermanentMy customer now seeks a Technical Director who could be based from either our Bristol, Exeter or London offices, to develop, manage and lead our national Transport Planning offer. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established NCE top 100 multi-disciplinaryconsultancy where you can develop and lead your own team, apply your expertise to a range of projects, and develop the existing portfolio of clients.The role:You will be responsible for developing their transport planning business through increased sales, sector market penetration, and turnover, as well as managing the commercial viability of work and providing technical direction.You will work closely with the senior management team to develop and expand the Transport Planning business within the company and work collaboratively with our other engineering disciplines in order to deliver the quality of service and technical expertiseour clients expect.Suitable applicants will ideally:Have relevant professional qualifications such as CEng or TPP and MCIHT. An MSc (or equivalent) in Transport Planning would also be desirableHave extensive experience in the private sector and significant experience in the public sector in development planning, having attended consultation events and prepared appeal statementsBe commercially astute, able to prepare technical and commercial bids, and reports, win work, direct and manage projects, and have a track record of delivering projects to program and budgetHave exceptional communication and negotiation skillsBe able to develop, coach, and motivate a team and support professional developmentBe able to deliver to meet our clients needs and to quality and health and safety standardsHave wide-ranging expertise including knowledge of National Transport Planning Policy and guidance, DMRB design standards, manual for streets and sustainable transport, prepared transport assessments/statements, travel plans, access appraisal, traffic modeling,design of junctions, traffic management, and calming schemes
