Job Description

Head of Culture and Creative IndustriesVacancy Ref: 7128120Venn Group are currently recruiting for an interim Head of Culture and Creative Industries for a Local Authority in the South West.Location: South West (Hybrid)Duration: 36 MonthsRate: £500 per day via UmbrellaIR35 status: Inside IR35Responsibilities:

  • Working in partnership with other organisations locally, nationally and internationally to deliver the citys cultural strategy and provide a cultural programme that is exciting, accessible, stimulating and inclusive
  • Delivering an outstanding museum, gallery and archive service that is recognised locally, nationally and internationally for its innovative and audience-focussed programme, its collections/records and archives and standards of care
  • Develops a high-quality audience-focussed public programme that reaches new audiences including hard to reach audiences and increases engagement
  • Develops a resilient service that is efficient, delivers its fundraising targets and increases its earned and commercial income
  • Support the team to ensure Culture and Creative Industries Service is developed to its full potential, to deliver the best outcomes for residents and meet corporate objectives
Essential experience:
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and developing a large inter-disciplinary museum, gallery, archive or culture service of comparable scope, size and complexity
  • In depth knowledge of museums, galleries, archives and arts organisations in the 21st century and of the culture and creative industries sector in the local area
  • A track record of developing an enterprising and entrepreneurial museum service, with strong fundraising, budget management and project management skills and ability to apply commercial judgement to deliver cost efficient and effective results
