Job Description

Grinder required to join a well-established manufacturing company based in the Bristol area. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a skilled Manual Grinder to join our dedicated team.Grinder Position Overview

  • Operate manual grinding machines to shape, smooth, and finish metal components according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to understand the required dimensions and tolerances.
  • Select appropriate grinding tools and abrasives based on material and finish requirements.
  • Set up and adjust grinding machines to ensure precision and accuracy in the finished products.
  • Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
  • Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on grinding equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including machinists and quality control personnel, to achieve production goals.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Document production and inspection data accurately.
Grinder Position Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Manual Grinder or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of different types of metals and their properties.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Grinder Position Remuneration
  • Full time - Permanent position
  • £14ph to £16ph Dependent upon experience
  • Overtime available
  • Full-time, Permanent position.
  • 33 Days Holiday, Inc. Bank Holidays
